During these challenging times, the UNC Department of Psychology and Neuroscience remains dedicated to providing our students with a world-class educational experience while advancing research in high impact areas that address individual and societal needs. Moreover, through our Community Psychology Clinic, we are committed to providing high quality affordable mental health and behavioral services to the campus and the community. We cannot do this vital work without you.

The time is especially important now given the high prevalence of mental and behavioral health concerns exacerbated by the pandemic. Individuals and families are navigating social isolation, economic stress, and unprecedented uncertainty. College-aged people are experiencing profoundly high levels of stress and distress. Mental health is worsening in younger adolescents and children as well, with severe major depression and anxiety all too common. There is considerable unmet need for quality, affordable mental health treatment for adults, adolescents, and children, with therapist shortages in many areas, long waitlists exacerbated by the pandemic, and all too many uninsured.

The Clinic strives to meet this critical need by providing evidence-based assessment and treatment methods for various psychological issues, training graduate students in these state-of-the-art approaches, and supporting clinical research that advances the practice of psychology.
